Will PGE supply ESS batteries in Poland?

SEOUL, March 25, 2025 – LG Energy Solution announced today that it has signed an agreement with PGE, Poland’s largest energy sector company, to supply 981MWh of grid-scale ESS batteries between 2026 and 2027. Both companies will collaborate to establish a battery energy storage facility in Żarnowiec, Poland.

In Poland, production plants for lithium-ion batteries have been established by companies such as SK Innovations, Nara Battery Engineering, Foosung and Enchem. These plants are located in Lower Silesia, the Opole region (Kędzierzyn-Koźle), and the region of Zagłębie (Dąbrowa Górnicza).
